Canada’s Under The Rocks released their new album Honest Try in early 2024. Based in an area with a scenic backdrop of rolling hills and lakes, the band has solidified its position as one of Canada’s leading bluegrass groups.
The band includes Jordan Klassen on acoustic guitar; Chloe Davidson on fiddle; Chris Baxter on banjo and mandolin; and Nils Loewen on upright bass. Under The Rocks deliver a sound that seamlessly combines tradition with singer-songwriter flair. Their music features intricate arrangements, highlighted by emotive instrumental breaks and robust vocal harmonies.
Honest Try is Under the Rocks’ second studio release. It highlights their versatility across various musical styles, from lively bluegrass tunes to introspective ballads filled with philosophical musings. The album was produced over seven days with the guidance of renowned producer Andrew Collins, who also contributes his mandolin expertise. It also features Miles Zurawell on the dobro.
