In a celebration of the passion and rhythm of the guitar, this concert brings the Los Angeles Philharmonic together with the illustrious Mexican duo Rodrigo y Gabriela along with Spanish songstress Buika and flamenco singer/songwriter Javier Limón.
The Mujeres de Agua project is dedicated to Iranian singers and features music by Limon accompanied by musicians from Tunisia, Turkey and Lebanon. The musical influences range from flamenco and Spanish copla to fado, Greek folk music, Sephardic melodies and the sounds of the Middle East.
The Mujeres de Agua album includes extraordinary singers representing the diversity of Mediterranean music: Estrella Morente (Spain), Buika (Spain), Elefhteria Arvanitaki (Greece), Carmen Linares (Spain), Montse Cortés (Spain), Yasmín Levy (Israel), La Susi (Spain), la Shica (Spain), Aynur Dogan (Turkey), Sandra Carrasco (Spain) and Genara Cortés (Spain). Also featured in Mujeres de Agua is the great fado diva Mariza from Portugal.
