Adriana Moreira Celebrates Brazilian Black Culture at Malungo Festival

Malungo Festival, a video showcase that celebrates the diversity of Brazilian black music, has released a collection of 8 video performances by some of the finest Afro-rooted Brazilian acts. The unprecedented music show brings together genres such as samba, jongo, capoeira, samba de roda, rock samba, choro, afro, batuque de umbigada, samba de bumbo, and partido-alto.

Today, we are featuring Adriana Moreira’s show Santa Segunda. Adriana Moreira has performed at major venues in São Paulo. A samba lover, Moreira has a highly expressive vocal stye that combines power and softness, recalling the singing style of artists such as Elizeth Cardoso and Clara Nunes.

In the musical show “Santa Segunda”, she presents an original repertoire, built over the seven years she was in charge of Monday nights at the renowned São Paulo bar and concert hall Ó do Borogodó.

Adriana Moreira’s discography includes Direito de Sambar ‎(CPC UMES, 2006) and Cordão ‎(Pôr Do Som, 2012).
