A Midsummer’s Night Dream, Reissue of Rare Progressive Folk from Oberon

A new, remastered edition of Oberon’s A Midsummer’s Night Dream will be available April 16, 2021. Oberon was a progressive folk music band from the UK. The album was recorded by students at the beginning of their summer vacation.  Oberon self-financed the project and released 99-copies-only in 1971. Their album “A Midsummer’s Night Dream” is one of the rarest, most expensive artifacts to emerge from the effervescent early Seventies British underground scene.

This version is a 2CD Deluxe Edition that includes a remastered version of the entire album “A Midsummer’s Night Dream.” The second disc comprises a live show recorded approximately three months before the album. The 2-CD digipak edition features rare photos and a new essay on the band.

Band members included Bernie Birchall on bass; Robin Clutterbuck on vocals, guitar; Nick Powell on percussion; Jan Scrimgeour on vocals, guitar; Julian Smedley on vocals, violin; Chris Smith on acoustic guitar; and Charlie Seaward on flute.
