Three musicians representing diverse cultures and nations got together on They Say Humans Exist. Norwegian multi-instrumentalist and composer Jacob Young and American clarinetist and composer David Rothenberg come from the jazz tradition. Meanwhile, Malian percussion maestro and multi-instrumentalist Sidiki Camara is well known in the world music scene and plays various traditional West African instruments.
On They Say Humans Exist you’ll find a fascinating mix of exquisite performances that incorporate improvisation, subtle electronic ambience, evocative melodies, spoken work and masterful performances.
The lineup includes Jacob Young on electric guitar, guitalele, electronics, acoustic guitar and spoken word; David Rothenberg on bass clarinet, Bb clarinet, seljefløyte (Scandinavian willow flute), and block flute; and Sidiki Camara on ngoni, balafon, calabass, tama (talking drum), percussion, cymbals and vocals.
