DJ Cheb i Sabbah Replaces DJ Shantel in Madison World Music Festival

Following the recent cancellation of DJ Shantel’s US tour in September, the Madison World Music Festival booked the Algerian DJ Cheb I Sabbah to replace him for the festival’s final performance and dance party on Saturday, 9/19/09 at 10 pm at the Memorial Union’s Terrace (Wisconsin Union Theater if rain).

Considered a leading world music DJ, Sabbah, who moved to France in the ’60s and began spinning in Paris in 1964, is one of the earliest practitioners of the art of deejaying.
