Canadian band Kobo Town is set to perform its unique form of modern calypso on Friday, April 10, 2015 at Old Town School of Folk Music in Chicago.

Kobo Town was founded by Trinidadian-Canadian singer-songwriter Drew Gonsalves. The band is named after the historic neighborhood in Port-of-Spain where calypso was born. Kobo Town mixes classic calypso with roots reggae, and acoustic instrumentation with social commentary.

Kobo Town released the critically acclaimed Jumbie In The Jukebox in 2013.
