The Best Traditional Tropical Latin Album went to Cuban legend Bebo Valdés with
Bebo De Cuba (Calle 54 Records).
Willy Chirino won Best Salsa/Merengue Album (Vocal or Instrumental.) with Son del Alma (Latinum Music) .
The Best Reggae Album award went to Damian Marley for Welcome to Jamrock (Tuff Gong/Universal).
The Best Native American Music Album went to Sacred Ground – A Tribute To Mother Earth, featuring Various Artists, Jim Wilson, producer (Silverwave Records/Katahdin Productions).
Bluegrass singer and multi-instrumentalist Tim O’Brien won the Best Traditional Folk Album category with Fiddler’s Green (Sugar Hill Records)
The Best Contemporary Folk Album award went to Fair & Square by John Prine (Oh Boy Records)
Masters of Hawaiian Slack Key Guitar Vol. 1. 1 won the Best Hawaiian Music Album. Various Artists. Daniel Ho, Paul Konwiser & Wayne Wong, producers (Daniel Ho Creations).
