Within a week of announcing the upcoming release of their fifth album
Super Pop Venezuela, acclaimed Latin rock/dance band Los Amigos Invisibles saw supporters
at college radio instantly respond by making the album (through advance airplay
copies) the #1 World Music add on the new CMJ chart.
Having established themselves as one of the most inventive bands in the Dance
and Latin music landscape, Los Amigos Invisibles have become proud musical
ambassadors for their native Venezuela. Set for release on September 5th,
Super Pop Venezuela is an homage to the Venezuelan artists and songs that have most
influenced the band. Produced by DJ Dimitri from
Paris, the album sees the band bring their distinctive sound to reverential and
decidedly fun interpretations of Venezuelan songs that “provided the soundtrack
to our adolescence and early adult life,” explains guitarist José Luis Pardo.
Long hailed as one of the most exciting live bands in the Latin alternative
genre, Los Amigos Invisibles
now plan to start unveiling the songs of Super Pop Venezuela in their next round
of concert performances. The concerts include an awaited return to Los Angles scheduled for
next week, a planned record release celebration in their home base of New York
and an appearance at Miami’s Bang Music Festival.
