Robert Browning Associates will celebrate 49 years of world music and dance in New York City with a focused Fall 2025 lineup at Roulette. The series spans Indian classical, Québécois folk, and Turkmen traditions, co-presented with Roulette and Lotus Music & Dance.
Season Preview
- Sat, September 27, 8 p.m. — Indian Masters: L. Shankar with V. Selvaganesh, Amit Kavthekar & Swaminathan Selvaganesh. The Indian violinist appears with leading percussionists.
- Fri, October 24, 8 p.m. — Protest And Pancakes: Kiran Ahluwalia. The vocalist combines Indian forms with global influences.
- Sat, October 25, 8 p.m. — Music Of Quebec: Le Vent Du Nord. The acclaimed group performs traditional and contemporary dance tunes and ballads.
- Sat, November 1, 8 p.m. — Journey Across The Steppes Of Iran And Central Asia: Oghlan Bakhshi. A program centered on Turkmen music.
Robert Browning has presented world music since April 1976, from the Alternative Center for International Arts/Alternative Museum to his 26-year tenure at World Music Institute (co-founder and director, 1985–2011) and 12 years leading Robert Browning Associates. He has presented more than 2,400 concerts featuring artists from over 100 regions.
