Salomé Ramírez Almagro Steps Into The Dance Spotlight

At the 64th edition of the Festival Internacional del Cante de las Minas, the Trofeo “Desplante” in the baile flamenco (flamenco dance) category went to Salomé Ramírez Almagro for her taranto and soleá. She performed with Alejandro Moreno on guitar, Manu Soto on cante, and Gabriel “De la Tomasa” and José Luis Hernández on palmas.

Cádiz swept the category; José María Viñas Coca placed second and received €2,000. The award arrives ahead of Ramírez Almagro’s first solo show in November at the Teatro Real, and she continues on tour with Yerai Cortés.
