The single cover for Scallywags by Dàna features a hand-drawn style. It depicts a wine or beer bottle labeled “Dàna” flanked by two glasses, with beer taps on the left, one marked with a shamrock, the other with a star. Set against a textured beige background.

Dàna’s New Single Makes Mischief with “Scallywags”

Glasgow-based all-female Celtic music group Dàna introduces their latest single, “Scallywags,” a spirited two-part set that showcases both original composition and traditional influence. The track opens with a tune by band member Eleanor Tout, followed by “Tripping O’er the Bogs” by uilleann piper John McSherry.

Formed recently, Dàna takes its name from the Gaelic word for “bold” or “audacious”—a fitting reflection of their confident musical style. Since their debut, the group has quickly gained recognition, earning a Danny Kyle Award at Celtic Connections 2025.

Musicians: Anna Robertson on fiddle; Eleanor Tout on whistle; Laura Penman on clarsach; and
Alex Wotherspoon on piano.
