Flamenco Gets a Digital Pulse: La Plazuela’s NYC Debut

On Saturday, March 15, 2025, Granada-based duo La Plazuela makes its long-awaited New York City debut at (Le) Poisson Rouge, bringing a bold fusion of flamenco, funk, pop, and electronic music to the stage. Comprised of Manuel Hidalgo Sierra (El Indio) and Luis Abril Martín (El Nitro), the group has been making waves with its genre-defying approach.

Known for their electrifying performances and hypnotic rhythms, La Plazuela reimagines flamenco for a new generation while staying deeply connected to its origins. Their sound is both a tribute to the past and a leap into the future, merging intricate guitar work with pulsating beats and modern production.

Presented by the World Music Institute in collaboration with Flamenco Festival New York, this performance promises an exhilarating night where flamenco’s spirit meets the energy of the club.
