Cuban jazz singer, composer, and multi-instrumentalist Ana Carla Maza will make her U.S. debut tour this April, performing in Boston, New York, Washington D.C., Chicago, and Miami.
Maza, a cello virtuoso, has been touring Europe with her five-piece ensemble, earning widespread acclaim for Caribe Deluxe, an album that combines Afro-Cuban rhythms, salsa, bossa nova, and Latin jazz. Raised in the rich musical environment of Buena Vista-era Cuba, she comes from a distinguished musical lineage and studied piano under Miriam Valdés, sister of jazz legend Chucho Valdés. However, Maza has forged her own distinct sound, one that defies categorization and pulses with infectious energy.
Her U.S. tour coincides with the April 11 release of Caribe Deluxe, a reimagined version of her celebrated album, Caribe.
