Indian singer-songwriter Atiya Khan has returned with her second single in 30 years, “Sasha.” Released on Valentine’s Day, the song honors the enduring bond between mother and child. It serves as a tribute to Atiya’s son, Sasha Saqib, celebrating his life and the strength he unknowingly provided to his displaced family.
Born in India and raised in Pakistan, Atiya’s music combines classical Indian influences with Western jazz and blues. She gained early recognition on Pakistani radio in the 1950s before expanding her career to Moscow, England, the U.S., and eventually the Netherlands, where she recorded her first album.
