Aljibe Receives the Fundación Siglo Futuro Award for Cultural Promotion

The Fundación Siglo Futuro has awarded its newly established Prize for Cultural Promotion to the Spanish folk music group Aljibe. This recognition honors their more than 15 years of contributions to cultural programming in Guadalajara and surrounding towns through concerts and performances.

Since 1999, the Fundación Siglo Futuro has been granting awards to individuals and groups for their contributions to cultural and human values. In the 2024 edition, recipients include Mariano Barbacid Montalbán and Plácido Ballesteros San José.

In addition to Aljibe, this year’s honorees include the quintet Concuerda y Más, Filomena Auñón, and Antonio Carrión.

The awards will be presented on June 27 during a gala at the Teatro Buero Vallejo in Guadalajara, marking the conclusion of the 2024-25 season.

Founded in 1992, the Fundación Siglo Futuro has been recognized with the Medalla al Mérito Cultural by the Junta de Comunidades de Castilla-La Mancha for its significant contributions to cultural development.
