On Saturday, January 18, as part of the 12th season of the Círculo Flamenco de Madrid, a special event will celebrate the centenary of Francisco Moreno Galván. Titled Un Grundig, Veintitrés Cintas y un Cencerro (a Grundig, 23 tapes and a cowbell), the program will unveil a previously unheard sound archive featuring key figures of flamenco, including Moreno Galván himself, José Menese, Diego Clavel, José Manuel Caballero Bonald, Fernando Montoro, and Miguel Vargas, among others.
Francisco Moreno Galván was a Spanish painter, poet, and lyricist from La Puebla de Cazalla in Seville province. He wrote lyrics for many well known flamenco artists.
The event begins at 1:00 PM at Corral de la Morería (Calle de la Morería 17) and will feature Juan Diego Martín Cabeza, introduced by Carlos Martín Ballester, president of Círculo Flamenco de Madrid.
The poster was designed by María Artigas. Admission is free, with seating available on a first-come, first-served basis.
