The Círculo Flamenco de Madrid has announced the program for its twelfth season (2024-2025), featuring 32 events that put the spotlight on flamenco singing, concert guitar, and a series of parallel activities.

The season will kick off with a special concert presenting prominent voices from the Campo de Gibraltar, including El Purili, José Pañero, Luis de Mateo, and Juanjo de la Orilla. Other notable performers scheduled to appear are Felipe Scapachini, Agujetas Chico, Ana la Yiya, David el Galli, Juan Bacán, Pedro Montoya “El Chanquita,” and Tomás Rubichi.

A highlight will be a special night dedicated to Japanese flamenco enthusiasts, featuring Jesús Méndez and Enrique Sakai in an extraordinary concert. Concert guitar will play a significant role in the lineup, with performances by renowned artists such as Gerardo Núñez, Juan Ramón Caro, Emilio Caracafé, and Daniel Casares.

The season includes the revival of the “Directo en el Círculo de Madrid” CD series, with a day dedicated to Luis el Zambo. The event will feature a morning presentation of the CD, followed by an evening concert, held in collaboration with the Ateneo de Madrid. Additionally, the Círculo will introduce its publishing arm, “Ediciones Círculo Flamenco de Madrid,” in March.

The program will also feature a range of parallel activities led by experts such as Romualdo Molina, Javier Osuna, and Ramón Soler. One notable event will honor Francisco Moreno Galván, presenting a previously unreleased audio legacy, guided by Juan Diego Martín Cabeza.

The ongoing collaboration with the Real Casino de Madrid allows Círculo members to attend all activities under the Foro Flamenco José Ángel Galán, including two lectures by Eugenio Cobo and Paco Paredes, each accompanied by performances from Paco del Pozo and Encarnación Fernández, and concluding with a concert by José Valencia and Juan Requena.

The partnership with Cineteca de Matadero Madrid also continues, offering a film series featuring works by directors Julio Diamante, Manuel Palacio, and Carole Fierz.

The season will conclude with the annual donation of recordings to the Centro Andaluz de Documentación del Flamenco, accompanied by a guest appearance by Vicente Soto. The season is supported by various institutions, including Teatro Flamenco Madrid, Real Casino de Madrid, Ateneo de Madrid, Corral de la Morería, Sin Tarima Libros, Centro Andaluz de Documentación del Flamenco, and Matadero Madrid. The season’s promotional poster was designed by María Artigas.
