Habibi Festival 2024: A Celebration of Southwest Asian and North African Sounds

The Habibi Festival has returned for its fourth year, October 8 – 12, 2024. The event offers a fascinating exploration of contemporary and traditional music from the Southwest Asia and North Africa (SWANA) region. Spanning cities from Marrakech to Baghdad, the festival brings together a diverse lineup of performers who present the music of the area.

Founded by Alex Knowlton (Director of Joe’s Pub), Yacine Boulares (artist, composer, curator), and Meera Dugal (curator, producer), the festival’s mission is to create joyful spaces for performance, dialog, and storytelling, emphasizing the cultural significance of the SWANA region.

  • Tuesday, October 8: Nour Harkati + NARCY with special guests
  • Wednesday, October 9: Israa Shalaby + Mona Miari
  • Thursday, October 10: Taktouka + Karim Ziad with Mehdi Nassouli
  • Friday, October 11: Layth Sidiq + Karim Ziad with Mehdi Nassouli
  • Saturday, October 12: Israa Shalaby + Layth Sidiq
