The David Mayfield Parade Debuts on Mountain Fever Records

The David Mayfield Parade has released their debut recording, “Daytime Moon,” under Mountain Fever Records. Produced by Tim O’Brien and written by band member Ryan Wallen, combines ethereal aesthetics with classic country imagery. The opening lyrics merge themes of “cosmic love connection” with everyday phrases like “twist a top and pop a squat.”

The song features winding, finger-picking bluegrass instrumentals that enhance its cosmic imagery and traditional sound.

About The David Mayfield Parade

The David Mayfield Parade hails from various parts of Ohio, forming a three-hour triangle of talent. The band is led by David Mayfield from Akron, with Graham Bell on bass from Brecksville, two-time national banjo champion Steven Moore from Saint Clairsville, and Ryan and Keith Wallen from Dayton. Since their formation in October 2022, they have been making their mark in the music industry with original material.

Musicians: Ryan Wallen on lead vocals and resophonic guitar; David Mayfield on guitar and tenor vocal; Steven Moore on banjo and baritone vocals; Keith Wallen on mandolin; Graham Bell on bass; and Troy Boone on guitar.

Ryan Wallen says: “The Moon gets blamed for a lot of things it seems, the rising and lowering of the tide, mood swings when the moon is full and a whole host of other astrological conceptualizations. But as me and my dad made eye contact with the moon in the full light of day, we thought…I wonder what a Daytime Moon makes you want to do? Thus, the idea for the feel good, fun time tune was born. In a world where people are always in a hurry or worrying about things they can’t control, it’d be nice to have an excuse to be happy and enjoy the day; an event that’s not rare at all, something to make you say ‘today will be a good one,’ an excuse to gaze at the beyond, an excuse to enjoy the positive sight of our celestial neighbor. A Daytime Moon.”
