The 2024 edition of Haapavesi Folk Music Festival will take place June 27–29. Haapavesi Folk Music Festival’s (founded in 1989) program includes Finnish and international folk music and world music, together with some classical, jazz, pop and cross-genre acts.
This year’s line-up includes international names like Joseph Decosimo (USA) and Góbé (Hungary), as well as local stars such as Ensemble Gamut!, Juurakko, Frigg and Maija Kauhanen with Swedish hurdy-gurdy master Johannes Geworkian Hellman.
Artistic director for the event is Teija Niku. The Folk course organized before the festival is the at the heart of the international event.
