Crandall Creek has released a new bluegrass single, “Don’t Come Knockin’,” featuring lead vocals by Carly Greer.
Band leader, guitarist, and primary songwriter Jerry Andrews shared insights into the song’s creation. He mentioned, “I had 12 lines plus the melody of ‘Don’t Come Knockin’ recorded in my phone for a while. I knew this one was right in Carly’s wheelhouse. During a practice at Stonewall Jackson’s summer home in Beverly, West Virginia (thank you Arden Swecker and Amanda Reese,) I presented it to the band. Fifteen minutes later it was complete, and we had a blast! Carly contributed lyrics and verses, helped with structure, and then Kathy added the finishing touches.”
The single, produced by Jamie Peck, showcases Crandall Creek members Carly Greer on lead vocal, Kathy Wigman Lesnock on harmony vocal, Jerry Andrews on rhythm guitar, and Dustin Terpenning on banjo. Guest musicians include Andy Leftwich on fiddle, lead guitar, mandolin, and Darrin Vincent on bass.
Additional band members include Sav Nelson on acoustic bass and Steve Acord on fiddle. Crandall Creek received five 2024 Josie Music Awards nominations: Group of the Year (Bluegrass), Jerry Andrews for Songwriter of the Year, “Just 18” for Music Video of the Year, Carly Greer for Best Performance in a Music Video in “Just 18,” and Carly Greer for Country Female Vocalist of the Year.
