The trio MiASiN! features female artists from Armenia, Turkey, and France. They sing about emancipation, freedom, and being “miasin” (meaning “together” in Armenian).
MiASiN! explore Anatolian cultural identities through music and sing in Armenian, Turkish, Kurdish, Zaza, Hamshen … Using saz, duduk, an electric violin or analog synthesizers, this eclectic ensemble mixes traditional flavors in fusion with jazz and electronica. A music alternately festive, sensual and captivating. An ode to the dialogue of cultures and women’s rights.
After 2 residencies in Lyon (Théâtre des Subsistances) and in Brussels (Villa Empain – Boghossian Foundation), MiASiN ! was on tour this summer in Armenia and Turkey, meeting with masters of the region’s music. More than a tour, it was a journey full of emotion, during which the band enriched its repertoire and gleaned songs and melodies from this multicultural cradle. MiASiN ! is now setting course for stages and festivals in Western Europe.
