La Delio Valdez, Argentina’s leading cumbia band, was founded in Buenos Aires in 2009. As a musicians’ cooperative, they have crafted a unique style that blends cumbia with various musical traditions across Latin America.
LDV’s music echoes the orchestral traditions of the continent, reminiscent of historical Argentine Tango Orchestras and the vibrant Caribbean Orchestras. Their performances are characterized by powerful soundscapes and dynamic dance rhythms.
Their music fuses Argentine traditions with cumbia, salsa, rock, jazz, and reggae, creating a sound that is both traditional and modern. This blend reflects the diverse, mestizo identities of Latin America.
Following a successful European tour last November, featuring sold-out shows in cities like Paris, London, Berlin, Rome, and Madrid, LDV is set to return this summer. They will be performing at various festivals, presenting their sixth and latest album, El Tiempo y la Serenata.
Moreover, the orchestra will be in Europe for a special event in Spain from October 8 to 13.
