Orgōne, the Los Angeles-based Afrofunk psychedelic band, will unveil their latest single, “Zum Zum,” on February 9th, coinciding with the release of their studio album, Chimera, via 3 Palm Records.
“Zum Zum,” the third single from the album, captivates with its infectious afrofunk vibe, fusing propulsive percussion and rhythms. Originating from the Congo, Mermans “Mofaya” Mosengo delivers powerful vocals in his native Lingala, intertwining with Orgōne’s dynamic instrumentation.
The song, reminiscent of a childhood chant, entices with its energetic hooks and builds to a vibrant psychedelic climax, highlighting Orgōne’s unique combination of Afrobeat and psych soul.
