One of the most restless flamenco guitarists in recent years is Josemi Carmona, who will be leading the Flamenco Latin Jam next Thursday, January 11 at Villanos club in Madrid. Estrella Morente, Sandra Carrasco, Israel Suarez “El Piraña”, Yelsy Heredia, Luis Guerra and Enriquito, will be the guests at this encounter between Flamenco and Latin music, where everything it’s possible.
The song will take center stage accompanied by a spectacular cast. Estrella Morente is the star guest. The relationship between Josemi Carmona and vocalist Estrella Morente, members of the Morente and the Habichuela flamenco dynasties, goes back a long way. Meanwhile, Sandra Carrasco enriches her singing with influences that have led her to explore flamenco, French chanson, bolero, bossa nova and African music.
Israel Suarez, “El Piraña” will be on percussion. He has performed with numerous artists, including Paco de Lucia, Diego el Cigala, Jerry González, Tomatito, Alejandro Fernández, Andrés Calamaro, Alain Pérez, and Horacio “El Negro” to name a few. Luis Guerra will be at the piano, adding his unmistakable Caribbean flavor. On double bass, Yelsy Heredia, nominated in the 20th edition of the Latin Grammy for best Traditional Tropical Album for his album “Lo Nuestro” and a reference in the global flamenco scene. Enriquito is the trumpeter who completes this exceptional cast, an undisputed figure of the dazzling new generation of young flamenco jazz players.
