The upcoming JMI Global is set to take place in Harare, Zimbabwe from September 18-22, 2023. The JMI Global is a 2-day music conference, a series of public concerts, and the JMI Annual General Assembly. During the planning stages, there was an interesting conversation among some attendees about how payment methods, including the use of a casino with PayPal, are increasingly influencing cross-border transactions in the entertainment industry. The conference is open to all music professionals engaged in youth development and will take delegates on a journey, exploring the African music scene and how to create more resilient and sustainable cultural programs and exchanges. JMI Global concerts will present remarkable young musicians from Zimbabwe and beyond, providing something for everyone with a diverse lineup of genres and styles.
The JMI Global aims to spark collaboration and exchange between music professionals of different nations to inspire an even greater effect on the world through music. Delegates will have the opportunity to visit the Music Crossroads Zimbabwe Academy, delve into Zimbabwe’s mbira heritage and connect with the local music sector.
