Aron & The Jeri Jeri Band have released their latest EP, Teddoungal, a remarkable fusion of Senegalese traditions, jazz, and electronic music. This EP features collaborations with renowned artists from around the world, including Baaba Maal, José Marquez, Ibaaku, and Coco Em, creating an engaging musical experience.
Led by pianist and composer Aron Ottignon and sabar percussionist Bakane Seck, the band combines mbalax, Afrobeat, Afrofunk, and jazz into their sound. Aron Ottignon’s career includes collaborations with Stromae and global tours with various artists.
Bakane Seck, a Senegalese griot, brings his sabar mastery to the Jeri Jeri Band. Their musical journey began in Berlin in 2019, resulting in the creation of Teddoungal, an EP filled with joy, gratitude, and a celebration of Senegalese culture.
The music carries messages of optimism, hope, and the importance of understanding and appreciating diverse cultures. It aims to bridge cultural gaps and promote acceptance and celebration of our differences.
