Influential world music showcase WOMEX has revealed the artists set to perform at the 2023 opening gala on October 25 in A Coruña, Spain. Notably, since this year, 2023, marks the international celebration of the work and artistic legacy of the Spanish artist Pablo Picasso, who died on October 25, this year’s opening will present concerts by Spanish artists brought together under the theme of Picasso.
To honor Picasso’s lifetime of creative excellence, and to celebrate his deep connection to his homeland, Spain, the concert will travel the artistic thread of Picasso with four bands/artists. The show will present several key regions that marked his childhood and youth.
The four Spanish acts scheduled to perform are: Caamaño&Ameixeiras, Karmento, Niño Josele and Tarta Relena.
