Greek Multi-Instrumentalist Marios Podaras

Marios Podaras, a skilled musician proficient in playing the pandura, violin, oud, and tzoura, has built an extensive classical music education that commenced at the tender age of 4. Under the tutelage of George Papaioannou, he actively participated in traditional violin seminars hosted at the renowned Labyrinth Music Workshop, an institution overseen by Ross Daly. Additionally, his pursuit of musical knowledge led him to delve into the art of guitar playing.

As part of his musical journey, Marios Podaras engaged in numerous musical endeavors, involving memberships in various music bands within Greece, notably including Kaisaras Kikis & Afousides, Marsyas, and the Reggetiko Project. His penchant for exploring diverse musical realms allowed him to highlight his talents across different genres, ranging from rebetiko, rock, blues, and jazz to psychedelic music.

Beyond national borders, Marios Podaras has made his mark as a performer, gracing festivals and concerts across various countries, including Greece, Cyprus, Spain, the United Kingdom, Hungary, Croatia, Austria, and Bulgaria. Throughout his career, he has shared the stage with musicians such as George Papaioannou, Azafran, Meliri, Efrén López, George Avramidis, and Margarita Lititari.

Notably, Marios Podaras has exhibited his compositional talent in multiple creative domains, contributing his musical compositions to films, award-winning video games, and contemporary dance performances. His involvement in albums and music collections of diverse stylistic orientations further attests to his versatility as a musician.

In addition to his musical endeavors, Marios Podaras finds himself as a member of the Pausis world music ensemble.
