Electric Sufi – Breathe In Love (CPR, 2023)
Electric Sufi have released their debut digital album Breathe In Love, which features a masterfully crafted, entrancing mix of world music, electronica, and traditional elements. The album draws inspiration from Sufi Muslim, Christian, and Humanist ideologies, aiming to promote engagement with climate change issues while uniting various musical traditions.
The songs on the album are based on the Sufi music tradition, where existing words, phrases, poems, and songs are reworked. These texts come from ancient roots and both ancient and more recent sources, such as Urdu poetry and the mesmerizing works of the 13th Century Sufi mystic Rumi in Persian. Some ancient Christian sources are also incorporated into the album.
