Janalynn Castelino has released “Bella Ci Dormi,” a traditional ballad that has its roots in Southern Italy, recorded with her high-pitched powerhouse vocals. The 24-year-old versatile singer-songwriter and professionally trained doctor embarked on her first release in 2023. The new song came out Friday, August 4th.
“Bella Ci Dormi” (Beautiful is Sleeping) is a much popular melancholic yet beautiful folk ballad from the Salento tradition. Janalynn has rendered a varied range of emotions to this interpretation, as she’s recorded patterns of contrasting vocal harmonies herself. Being true to its flavor, the track is rearranged with an array of live instrumentation comprising tammorra, mandolins, accordion, and a variety of brief guitar flights with modern bass drums. She’s forever grateful to all the amazing people who worked on this project and made it happen.
