The album “London Ko” by Malian singer-songwriter and guitarist Fatoumata Diawara has landed at #1 on the Transglobal World Music Chart for July 2023. “London Ko” was developed in cooperation with British pop artist Damon Albarn, who contributed as a producer to six of the 14 songs. “London Ko” features a mix of traditional Malian music along with Afrobeats, jazz, pop, and electronica. Guests include Cuban piano virtuoso Roberto Fonseca (Buena Vista Social Club), Nigerian Afropop singer and activist Yemi Alade, and French rock musician -M-.
