Selwyn Birchwood Claims Top Position on NACC’s Blues Music Chart for the Week of June 20

The album “Exorcist” by Selwyn Birchwood has reached the number one position in the Blues Music category on the North American College and Community radio (NACC) charts for the week ending June 20, 2023.

Selwyn Birchwood is a Florida musician who combines traditional blues with his own visionary and original style. His music, which he calls “Electric Swamp Funkin’ Blues,” is a captivating mix of deep blues, psychedelic rock, funky rhythms, and Southern soul.

Birchwood’s latest album, “Exorcist,” produced by Grammy Award-winner Tom Hambridge, presents his musical versatility and features 13 songs with unexpected rhythms and vivid storytelling.

Birchwood’s live performances are described as powerful and captivating, with his soulful vocals and impressive guitar skills captivating audiences.

Born in 1985 in Orlando, Birchwood discovered his passion for blues after being exposed to the music of Jimi Hendrix and Buddy Guy. He honed his skills under the guidance of veteran blues guitarist Sonny Rhodes and went on to form The Selwyn Birchwood Band in 2010. Since then, Birchwood has gained recognition, winning the International Blues Challenge in 2013 and releasing several critically acclaimed albums.

His music has reached a wide audience through radio play and performances at notable blues festivals and venues worldwide.
