This recording serves as a heartfelt homage to his departed mother, delving deep into Tri’s innermost ruminations on life, family, cultural heritage, the significance of cherished memories, and the indelible effect of maternal devotion.
“Duos – Alone” highlights Tri Nguyen’s work on the piano and the melodious tones of the đàn-tranh, a traditional Vietnamese zither. Nguyen meticulously composed and subsequently performed each instrument’s part in isolation, meticulously attuning his execution to the contours of his vivid imagination.
