Iconic Cuban Musician Eliades Ochoa to Release ‘Guajiro’ in May 2023

The revered Cuban singer, guitarist and songwriter, Eliades Ochoa, has announced the upcoming release of his highly anticipated new album, ‘Guajiro‘. Set to hit the airwaves on May 26th and accompanied by a vinyl release on June 9th, the album promises to showcase the legendary artist’s impressive musicianship and diverse songwriting talents.

Widely celebrated across the globe as one of the founding members of Buena Vista Social Club, Ochoa is perhaps best known for his iconic vocals on the album’s opening track, ‘Chan Chan’. In the wake of the phenomenal success of Buena Vista Social Club, Ochoa released nine albums, secured four Latin Grammys and even received a coveted Grammy nomination for his 2010 album, ‘Afrocubism‘.

Produced by the talented Demetrio Muñiz, ‘Guajiro’ boasts an impressive line-up of guest artists, including the likes of Rubén Blades, Joan As Police Woman and Charlie Musselwhite. With such a star-studded cast on board, the album is set to cement Ochoa’s status as one of the most vital and revered artists to emerge from Cuba over the past century.
