On Thursday, April 27, 2023, the tenth season of Círculo Flamenco de Madrid will present a Tribute to El Flamenco Vive, thereby continuing its dynamic programming. The event aims to pay homage to Alberto and David Martínez de la Plaza, who have been the standard-bearers for all flamenco enthusiasts for three decades of their professional career.
Their contribution includes an extensive range of works that encompass artists, books, guitars, and everything else related to flamenco music. Additionally, they have published numerous indispensable titles in modern bibliography, such as 50 years of flamencology by José Blas Vega, Luis de la Pica, El duende taciturno by Alfredo Grimaldos, and Sabicas’s correspondence by José Manuel Gamboa, among others.
To add to the celebratory atmosphere, the event will culminate with a concert by José Canela, a highly admired flamenco singer, and his family. Manuel Jero‘s exceptional guitar will accompany the performance.
The event will commence at 10:30 p.m., with the introduction by Elvira López Hidalgo, at the Teatro Flamenco Madrid (Teatro Alfil) located at Calle del Pez 10. The poster advertising the event has been designed by María Artigas. The public can purchase tickets for the event at cfm.teatroflamencomadrid.com.
