Boone & Foster - Long Journey Home

Boone & Foster Launch New Single “Long Journey Home”

Long Journey Home” (Mountain Fever Records) is the new single by Boone & Foster in memory of the late Aaron “Frosty” Foster. Musicians include Aaron “Frosty” Foster on lead vocal and guitar; Troy Boone on mandolin and harmony vocal; Aaron Ramsey on bass; Daniel Greeson on fiddle; and Brady Wallen on banjo.

Frosty contributed several ideas to the record by recommending his favorite bluegrass standards he sang. On the top of that list was ‘Long Journey Home.’ When performing the song, Frosty would usually be found smiling between singing or playing his solo, and I loved to see that joy come through him from a simple yet timeless bluegrass song,” said Boone.

When we sat down to record ‘Long Journey Home,’ we had discussed using a metronome to set the tempo,” Boone continued. “We hadn’t used one on any other track on the album, but I was worried about losing momentum on my part. That’s when Frosty looked up and said, ‘Just cut it son!’ Aaron Ramsey didn’t let me lose one beat, and I’m sure when you listen, you may find we even sped it up a tad!”

Long Journey Home” and two previously released singles, “Never Been So Lonesome,” together with the hit song, “County Fool,” will be included in Boone & Foster’s album, Smoky Mountain Favorites set for release on April 21, 2023, on Mountain Fever Records.
