On February 23 at 6:00 pm, the 2023 Homegrown concert series hosted by the American Folklife Center will commence with a solo show from the renowned banjo player, fiddler, and vocalist, Jake Blount. Blount. The accomplished musician and expert in African American musical traditions, will be performing as part of Live! at the Library, a weekly program featuring extended visiting hours and unique events every Thursday evening. The concert is also part of the Library of Congress’ Black History Month festivities and is being presented in conjunction with the Folklore Society of Greater Washington.
The Members Room, LJ-162, located on the first floor of the Library’s historic Thomas Jefferson Building, will be the venue for the concert, which is free of charge. However, a timed-entry pass to the Library is required for admission, and it can be obtained by clicking on the “get tickets” link. Live at the Library activities will begin at 5:00 pm, with the concert starting at 6:00. When booking a pass, please select the entry time that best corresponds to your anticipated arrival at the Library. If all advance passes have been taken, the Library expects to distribute some passes at the entrance.
