Award-winning folk-rock vocalist and songwriter David Crosby passed away on January 19, 2023. He was 81.
David Van Cortlandt Crosby, better known as David Crosby, was born on August 14, 1941.
David Crosby was a co-founder of two of the most influential American rock bands of the late 1960s, The Byrds and Crosby, Stills & Nash (later expanded to Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young).
“Déjà Vu” by Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young, released in March 1970, became an iconic and classic album that influenced numerous folk and rock artists throughout the world.
David Crosby released his first solo album, “If I Could Only Remember My Name,” in 1971.
Throughout the years, Crosby collaborated with dozens of artists, including Joni Mitchell, James Taylor, Pink Floyd’s David Gilmour, Phil Collins, Elton John, Michael League, Carole King, Becca Stevens, and Michelle Willis.
One of his most recent projects was with the Lighthouse Band.
