Argentine artist Chancha Via Circuito (Pedro Canale) has released his fifth full length album “La Estrella” (Wonderwheel Recordings). Chancha was one of the pioneers of Buenos Aires’s influential ZZK digital cumbia parties, and became known worldwide as the originator of the cumbia-inspired electronic music that draws from environmental sounds and South American folkloric traditions.
“La Estrella” (the star in Spanish) includes 11 songs that wander between richly-detailed instrumental soundscapes and upbeat vocal numbers, all connected by Chancha’s signature production style.
Guests include Argentine trio Fémina, vocalist Lido Pimienta, Meridian Brothers, Las Añez, Manu Ranks and María José Montijo.
