Amparo Sánchez, better known as Amparanoia, one of Spain’s leading mestizo music artists, unveiled a new music video titled “Cumbia Perfecta”. The song appears in her latest album “Himnopsis Colectiva”.
“Himnopsis Colectiva”invites the listener to dance and wake up to the beat of cumbia, border rock, Caribbean reggae, progressive pop, electronica, Latin and urban rhythms.
Amparanoia revolutionized the Spanish world music scene in 1997 with her acclaimed “El Poder de Machín” album. After that, she toured internationally and released “La Vida Te Da” in 2005, closing the first stage of Amparanoia that would culminate with the Bye Bye Tour 2008.
In 2017 she reappeared with the album “El Coro de Mi Gente”, in which colleagues from the Spanish music scene paid tribute to her by covering some of her most iconic songs. That same year, she celebrated the 20th anniversary of the release of her first album with the Welcome Tour, continuing the following year with the No Me Olvides Tour.
Amparo Sánchez composed and produced “Himnopsis Colectiva” accompanied by her band. Members include Willy Fuego (guitar), Carmen Niño (bass), Angie Lofer (piano), Maylin Jojoy (drums), José Alberto Varona (trumpet), as well as special guests: Xárate (percussion), Edu Espín Pacheco (flamenco guitar), Don Tomasino (trumpet), Ignacio Tapia Rodríguez (tuba), Fito Dongarra (accordion), Julián Saldarriaga (electric guitar) and Yeyo (backing vocals).
The design and graphic art of “Himnopsis Colectiva” was made by Mexican studio “Gran Om” from Oaxaca.
