Italy’s prestigious world music contest, Premio Andrea Parodi has issued a call for submissions for its 15th edition. The finals will be held in the fall (autumn) in Cagliari, Sardinia, Italy. The contest is open to artists from all over the world. Additionally, registration is free.
The deadline to apply is May 31, 2022. Applications must be sent through the format indicated online at www.fondazioneandreaparodi.it
Requirements:
– 2 tracks (2 mp3 files, auditions or live recordings or definitive achievements, indicate which of the two tracks will be the chosen competition song); purely instrumental songs are not admitted; moreover, the songs must identify an entire artistic project linked to “world music” (traditional or contemporary music rooted in traditional or folk music).
– lyrics and translations into Italian of the two pieces;
– artistic curriculum (single or group);
The Artistic Commission established by the Foundation will select ten finalists among the applicants in an anonymous way; the finalists will perform in Cagliari at the “Premio Andrea Parodi” Festival 2022, in front of a Jury composed of authoritative industry professionals (singers,, musicians, writers and songwriters, poets, managers, producers, press offices, journalists).
The prize for the Winner includes concerts and performances in some of the partner music festivals in their 2023 editions, such as European Jazz Expo (Sardinia), Folkest (Friuli), not forgetting the very same Premio Andrea Parodi 2023.
In addition to the aforementioned, the winners will be entitled to a €2,500 scholarship (grant). Whereas the winner of the Critics’ Awards will have a professional music video of their competition song produced, offered by the Andrea Parodi Foundation.
