Renowned world music festival WOMAD Cáceres has announced the return of the event in May 2022. With the motto “30 years together”, the gleaming poster of WOMAD Cáceres greets the reunion of the world music festival with its city after two editions suspended due to the coronavirus pandemic.
WOMAD Cáceres will take place between May 5 and 8, 2022. The link between the festival and the city, according to the director of WOMAD in Spain, Dania Dévora, is so solidly united that the effects produced by the pandemic have not managed to break it. In her opinion, the great support that the media have shown the festival in this obligatory parenthesis has contributed to this. “The support of the press has kept the flame of the festival alive when it was not possible to be present in Cáceres”, says Dévora.
The WOMAD Cáceres organization is preparing a safe festival, in which all the health measures that the Administration considers necessary to protect the health of the public, the artists and the festival workers will be applied.
WOMAD, adds Dania Dévora, works with enthusiasm and desire in the elaboration of the programming of its thirtieth edition to make this reunion with the city in Spain’s Extremadura region a unique appointment.
While the lineup of artists is being finalized, to be announced soon, WOMAD presented the poster, made by Noboru Takahashi.
