Dutch guitarist Kees van der Poel has released a new album titled Dream Guitar (Pan Records, 2021). The recording features solo guitar deeply rooted in Irish, Dutch, and Swedish musical traditions.
Kees was a member of well-known Dutch folk bands in the 1970s such as Wargaren and Wolverlei. Wargaren released two much-admired LPs in the 1970s. Kees also performs with ragtime guitar player Leo Wijnkamp.
The lineup includes Kees van der Poel on guitars; Janos Koolen on mandolin, piano, guitars, clarinet, banjo; Carel Kraayenhof on bandoneon, concertina; Frédérique Spigt on vocals; Gilles Rullmann on violin; Lex van Amsterdam on dobro; and Co Vergouwen on keyboards, soundscapes.
