Finnish band Ritva Nero, described as a folk metal act, has a new album titled “Immortal Tradition“. The band has released a music video of the song ‘Master of Maanitus‘ that appears in the new album.
Immortal Tradition features a collection of dances that were fashionable in the 1800s; such as polka, mazurka and maanitus. Ritva Nero has transformed these traditional dances into thunderous songs with a 21st century spirit. The band combines the explosive energy of heavy metal with dance music from the Finnish and Border Karelian regions.
Ritva Nero is a relatively new band on the Finnish music scene, formed in 2017. The music of the band is defined as Party Metal Folk. The lead instruments used by the band include soprano saxophone, Finnish bagpipes and nyckelharpa, complimented by a rock-style bass and heavy metal-style drums.
Ritva Nero includes Sanna Salonen on soprano saxophone; Petri Prauda on Finnish bagpipes; Emilia Lajunen on nyckelharpa; Jani Snellman on electric bass; and Patrik Fält on drums.
