Portuguese fado star Mariza will return to the New Jersey Performing Arts Center (NJPAC) on January 23, 2022 at 7:00 pm for a 20th anniversary concert celebrating her entire career. Mariza will perform some of her most popular songs along with material from her most recent album, Mariza Canta Amalia which is sold in the United States as Mariza Sings Amália. Notably, the new album is a more intimate effort, rooted in classic fado, combining traditional and innovative musical arrangements.
At NJPAC in Newark, Mariza will be accompanied by her long-time collaborator, Luís Guerreiro on Portuguese guitar; along with Phelipe Ferreira on classical guitar; Adriano Alves on bass; João Frade on accordion; and João Freitas on drums and percussion.
