Finnish Act Gájanas Wins International Indigenous Artist Recording of the Year at Summer Solstice Indigenous Music Awards 2021

Finnish band Gájanas has won the International Indigenous Artist/Group Recording of the Year Award at the Summer Solstice Indigenous Music Awards 2021 in Canada.

Gájanas (Echo in English) comes from Inari-Utsjoki, at the far north of Finland. They perform Northern Sámi ethno-progressive music. Gájanas recently released the album Cihkkojuvvon (Hidden).

Members of the band include Hildá Länsman, Nicholas Francett, Kevin Francett and Erkki Feodoroff.
