New Polish Folk Band Zawierucha Releases OberTany

A new Polish contemporary folk music band called Zawierucha (pronounced za-veeah-roo-ha) has released an album titled OberTany. The group has released the experimental dance music video with the musical piece “Wiwat Fortune” that appears in the OberTany album.

Zawierucha was formed in the year 2020 by Piotr Zgorzelski (traditional musician and dancer). The group brings together experienced musicians from various musical backgrounds, fascinated for many years by Polish traditional music and dances.

OberTany’s sound, arrangements and lyrics combine traditional influences with world music, as well as psychedelic, minimalist, jazz-rock and punk-rock experiments.

Zawierucha includes: Piotr Zgorzelski on bass, cello, vocals; Marcin Drabik on violin, octave violin; Kacper Malisz on violin and octave violin; and Kamil Siciak on drums. The dancer is Mikołaj Karczewski.
