British-Italian artist Piers Faccini has released a new single titled ‘Foghorn Calling.’ The song appears in his forthcoming album ‘Shapes Of The Fall’, scheduled for release on April 2, 2021 through the Nø Førmat! label.
the sound on ‘Shapes Of The Fall’ reflects Faccini’s South Italian ancestry, bridging Southern Europe with Africa and the Near East by spanning Arab-Andalusian and Sephardic modes and trance traditions drawn from the Maghreb region, the Berber people and Morocco’s Gnawa music.
The album features collaborations with Ben Harper and Abdelkebir Merchane. ‘Shapes Of The Fall’ is Faccini’s seventh album in a career spanning over twenty years and collaborations with the likes of Rokia Traoré, Ballaké Sissoko and Vincent Segal.
